INZ have recently indicated that the Investor Category is being overhauled, to simplify investment requirements. These changes will take affect from April 1 2025, and are summarised (with help from the INZ website) below:
Removal of English requirement;
Introduction of two new categories, "Growth" and "Balanced";
Growth investments will require a minimum of 5 million NZD (examples from another press release include direct investment in NZ companies).
Balanced investments require a minimum of 10 million NZD (these include bonds and property development investments.
Reduced immigration requirements (for example, time spent in New Zealand), but at the same time, applicants must make their investments within 6 months.
There will be timeframes for how long investments must remain for, but these haven't yet been announced. See more information here.
